GALLERY VISITS

Art Education allows the exposure of dynamic local artist and international artists to be studied. On this Gallery Visit students had the honor of meeting the artists works on display.

BOUNDARIES

The artwork created by Mr Bryn Barnard and Mrs Angie Hani for Fine Arts Night 2016 is titled, "Borders" in arabic "Hajiz". The concept behind this piece was to express the plight of people crossing borders carrying their lives on their backs. Trudging through cities to try and find a new beginning to an end. This graphic image portrays the heavy burden of weight, carried by refugees trying to find a place to call home.

TEDx KUWAIT

"Rip and Reconstruct" is an artist’s journey of authentic discovery. Angie Hani brings a unique understanding of self identity through artistic process. Angie will engage and inspire the senses with her cultivated understanding of the transitions within and between Australian and Lebanese cultures. Cultural dislocation has been an issue Angie has attempted to decipher, in an attempt to find connections with place and space.

ART IN THE MAKING - WANT V'S NEED

Fine Arts Night 2015, live art performed by Mr Bryn Barnard and Angie Hani. Depicting the ideas of "Want" and 'Need". Bryn and Angie worked on this two paneled painting for about 1.5 hours and rotated each 10 minutes to work collaboratively on each side of the panel. At the end of the event they both revealed the Arabic words hidden behind the artwork "Want and Need". The artwork was a reflection of the material consumption in mass volumes, in contrast to the depletion or everyday needs.

ARTS NIGHT 2012

Our first Fine Arts Night at the American International School Kuwait where my amazingly talented colleague, Mr Bryn Barnard, painted me, painting! This was performed live in front of a large crowd of guest attending the Fine Arts event.

TALL PAINTING

My colleague Bryn Barnard and I combined our grade 11 classes to do a performance art event in the school gallery. We created a “tall painting,” inspired by the work of the American artist Holton Rower. This was a group project for our students. When it’s was done we hung it on the ceiling as a huge sculptural structure.

ART KUWAIT

Art Kuwait was the first online page established in Kuwait as an art event and exhibition directory.

"WOMEN" 2011

Exhibited in the annual "Artists in Kuwait" exhibition by the National Councils for Culture and Arts. The concept of the artwork displayed in this exhibition titled, “Woman” depicts the pure heightened emotions of pleasure v’s pain. The rest is up to the audience. As you look deeper into the overall visual appeal of the artwork you will, within yourself decipher your own interpretation of “Woman”.
